Charlie's Dial-In Guide

Quick Reference

Dose 17g
Yield ~40g
Time ~25–32 seconds
Grind Same starting point. As the coffee ages and gets to 2+ weeks old, you may need to go slightly finer than the others.
Tip: This one has Ethiopian beans in the blend, which is where the berry flavour comes from. If it's fresher (3-4 days), aim for around 25 seconds. If it's 3-4 weeks old, let it run to 31-32 seconds to squeeze out the flavour.

Charlie's Tasting Notes:

As espresso: Dark chocolate and berries. A really distinct combination. The aroma is super sweet and fruity. There's an Ethiopian component (likely Yirgacheffe or Guji) that brings that fruitiness, balanced with a dark chocolate base. Smooth, well balanced, with a nice steady extraction.

With milk: Sweet milk chocolate, malt, and caramel upfront. The berry sweetness is still there but softer than in the espresso. You also get more malt with the milk. The berry note doesn't dominate, but it's enough that you'll taste the difference between this and the other three coffees in the box.
