About Perth Coffee Exchange
What is Perth Coffee Exchange?
Perth Coffee Exchange is a Western Australian multi-roaster specialty coffee marketplace and subscription service, shipping 75+ freshly roasted coffees from a rotating lineup of independent local roasters, more than 25 partnered since 2018, Australia-wide. Our signature offering is the multi-roaster tasting box: several coffees from different roasters combined in one order for side-by-side comparison, available as one-off purchases or subscriptions and chosen by your taste rather than as a surprise selection, with every coffee individually reorderable afterwards.
What makes Perth Coffee Exchange different?
Our multi-roaster tasting boxes let you compare coffees from several independent WA roasters side by side in one order, and they're not subscription-limited: buy a box whenever you like, no sign-up needed. You pick the box that fits you, by drink type (flat white, latte, black), roast strength, decaf, award winners, or a single roaster's range, and every coffee is tested before we range it, with several exclusive blends available nowhere else. When you find a favourite in a box, you can reorder that exact coffee anytime from our range of 75+. Family-run since 2018, with over 675 verified customer reviews.
Do you roast the coffee yourselves?
We don't operate a roastery; instead we curate and test coffees from independent WA roasters, with more than 25 partnered since 2018 and the lineup rotating regularly. We do go beyond curation, though: we partner with roasters to develop new roasts together, including exclusive PCX blends you won't find anywhere else, currently with Singular Roasters, GPNT, Artem, and Kaltiva.
How fresh is the coffee?
All coffee is roasted fresh by our partner roasters. Most bags ship 7 to 10 days after roasting, and no bag ships more than 20 days after roast date.
Choosing Coffee
What are tasting boxes?
Tasting boxes bundle multiple coffees from our WA roasters into one order, hand-curated so each box works as a set: compare smooth versus strong, explore a drink type like flat white or black, try a single roaster's best, taste award winners, or go all decaf. Most boxes contain 2 to 4 coffees in 250g bags, and our Personalised Discovery Box goes up to 10 coffees selected to your preferences. They're one-off purchases with no subscription required, and when a coffee stands out, you can reorder that exact one from our range.
Do you have decaf?
Yes, and we take decaf seriously. We carry more than a dozen decafs from a dozen-plus different WA roasters, the biggest decaf range we know of in Perth, every one tasted and rated by our team before it made the range. Options span Swiss Water, Mountain Water, and sugarcane processes, and you can mix decafs from different roasters in one order, get a decaf tasting box, or subscribe to Decaf of the Month.
Do you sell whole bean or ground coffee?
Both. Choose whole bean or select your brew method and we'll grind to suit: espresso machine, stovetop moka pot, filter machine, plunger, AeroPress, or pourover. We recommend whole bean for maximum freshness, and 95% of our customers choose it.
Do you sell coffee pods, capsules, machines, or grinders?
No pods, capsules, or instant: we specialise in freshly roasted whole bean and ground coffee. We don't sell espresso machines or grinders, but we carry brewing gear and accessories including AeroPress brewers, scales, milk pitchers, and a full range of espresso machine cleaning products.
Subscriptions
What subscription options are there?
Each month we feature one standout Australian roaster, and three subscriptions draw from them: Roaster of the Month delivers up to three of their coffees matched to your preferences, Single Origin of the Month brings one or two of their single origins, and Decaf of the Month one of their decafs. Separately, Jon's Top Picks delivers one coffee Jon is excited about that month, and Greatest of All Time one all-time favourite that rotates monthly. You can also subscribe to almost any coffee on the site and save 5% on every order, or prepay 3, 6, or 12 months upfront with no auto-renewal.
How do subscriptions work? Can I cancel?
Subscriptions deliver fresh-roasted coffee on your chosen schedule, with shipping calculated at checkout, and you can change, skip, pause, or cancel anytime with no fees or lock-in; 48 hours before your next charge is appreciated, and you can cancel right up to the day before.
