June 2026 Featured Pick: Offshoot, Popayan Colombia
For June, the featured pick is Offshoot Coffee's Popayan Decaf — a Colombian decaf from a Perth roaster we've worked with before and brought back as this month's Roaster of the Month. Their decaf earns its own feature here.
Decaf that doesn't drink like an afterthought. Offshoot's processing holds onto more of the original flavour than most decaf methods — caramel sweetness with a tropical fruit lift on the finish, both of which usually disappear when the caffeine does. A full-bodied Colombian base, worth choosing on purpose rather than by default.
The decaffeination uses a sugarcane-derived process that draws the caffeine out without stripping the coffee's structure. The Popayan region of Colombia provides the base — a high-altitude growing area known for clean, well-developed Colombian profiles. Brews well as espresso or filter. Holds up with milk, but the caramel and tropical fruit notes come through more clearly when brewed black.
Perfect for: evening cups, afternoon brews when you want flavour without the kick, and anyone who's tired of decaf being a compromise.

We were fed up buying bad coffee beans from the supermarket and didn’t have time to go to the farmers market of roasters too often. Having new coffee beans delivered every month has been amazing, we haven’t liked every bag we’ve got but have found some me amazing ones, it all adds to the enjoyment of sampling new styles we would have normally never even knew existed. Have recommended to all my coffee loving friends.
We have purchased a few sample packs and almost all of them have been a hit. This one in particular was a beautiful blend and will definitely purchase again. We have a delonghi coffee machine and purchase the whole beans.
