About this coffee

The one that rewards people who've moved past their first bag of coffee.

Medium-Dark Roast | Chocolate, Red Berries & Spices

Chocolate and warm spice sit alongside a genuine red-berry brightness, from a Brazilian, Ethiopian and Papua New Guinean blend. It's more layered than a straightforward chocolate bag, without losing the body.

Full-bodied with milk and just as capable as a straight espresso.

Smooth and flavoursome

“Best beans I have tried so far in my coffee machine. Very smooth and nice strong flavour. Was pleased to notice a difference as they are pricier than the last few I have tried.”

I've had this one a few times now. It's definitely one of my go-to favorites. It pairs so well with milk, and the flavor is amazing.

17g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield
around 40g of espresso in the cup
Time
26 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop

Fine, like caster sugar. Bitter and slow? Go a touch coarser. Sour and fast? A touch finer.

Tip: Start here. Not quite right? Change one thing — usually the grind — and tomorrow's cup is better. Today's is still fresh coffee.

Questions about this coffee

Where does this sit for strength?
Every coffee we list sits somewhere on a range from gentle to punchy. Check the roast level above, or ask us and we'll place it for you.
How fresh is this coffee?
Our roasters roast fresh for us in small batches, and we usually dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. Coffee actually improves for the first week or so after roasting, then holds well sealed. The roast date is on the bag.
What if I don't like it?
Tell us what didn't work and we'll help you find something closer to your taste. Full policy in our help centre.
Will this work with my machine?
Yes. If you're pulling espresso, the Starting Point above gives you a dose, yield and shot time to begin from. Every machine and grinder is a little different, so expect to adjust from there.
