Brewing Guide

Espresso

Does: 18g | Yield: 36g | Time: 30s | Temp: 94c

Standard Brewing Guide For Filter & AeroPress 

  • Coffee: 20g (Filter) / 15g (AeroPress)
  • Grind Size: Medium (Filter) / Medium-Fine (AeroPress)
  • Water Temperature: 94°C (201°F), just off the boil

Filter

  • Pre-rinse the filter paper with hot water.
  • Add ground coffee.
  • Bloom: Pour 50ml hot water, wait 30 seconds.
  • Pour remaining water slowly in a circular motion.
  • Enjoy!

AeroPress (1:16)

  • Use 15g coffee per 240ml water. Increase for multiple cups (example: 60g for four).
  • Bloom: Pour 50ml hot water, wait 30 seconds.
  • Pour remaining water.
  • Insert plunger, steep 1 minute.
  • Press slowly (20-30 seconds).
  • Enjoy!

Tips

  • Water Temperature: Experiment slightly below 94°C for different flavors.
  • Grind Size: Adjust for a perfect extraction time (around 30 seconds).
  • Scaling (Aeropress): The golden ratio is 1:16 (coffee:water).
  • Dilution (AeroPress): Your brew may be strong, dilute with hot water to taste.

Great decaf

I never drink decaf , but tried this and oh man is it a nice change not bitter smoothy creamy hint of chocolate nice when you want one in the evening but not the hit love it

Awesome taste without the zing!

Honestly couldn’t get over the taste. Like another comment I was reluctant to come off full strength coffee for 6 weeks. It is amazing how great it taste for a strong coffee drinker - unfortunately I need to go off it for 6 weeks. So this is a great alternative.

Glad we made the change

As a long time drinker of good coffee the change to decaf was one made reluctantly but was necessary due to anxiety issues. Brightside Surprisingly Good Decaf made making the change oh so easy. Like they say it is Surprisingly good coffee. Now I can still get the full coffee taste and mouth feel without the jittery anxious edge of regular coffee.
