About this coffee

A balanced espresso blend where sweetness and clarity actually get along

Medium Roast | Milk Chocolate, Caramel, Hazelnut & Mandarin

A blend of two origins doing two different jobs. A naturally processed Brazilian from Anahy brings the sweetness and body, and a washed Colombian from Risaralda brings the clarity and a delicate mandarin lift.

Milk chocolate and caramel lead, toasted hazelnut fills it out, and the mandarin keeps it from sitting flat. Velvety through milk, elegant on its own, with a sweet finish that lingers. One for drinkers who want a refined everyday cup rather than a loud one.

Good Seeds

West Perth

Good Seeds roast hand-selected coffees from around the world at their Gordon Street roastery and coffee bar in West Perth. They like to show the whole journey from farm to cup, with the growers front and centre on every coffee.

Blends like this are hard to get right. The Brazilian does the comfort, the Colombian does the lift, and neither one shouts over the other.

Espresso starting point

Dialled in on a Breville Barista Express

Dose
17.5g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield
40g of espresso in the cup
Time
25 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind
Fine, like caster sugar. Bitter and slow? Go a touch coarser. Sour and fast? A touch finer.

Tip: Start here. Not quite right? Change one thing — usually the grind — and tomorrow's cup is better. Today's is still fresh coffee.

Questions about this coffee

Where does this sit for strength?
This sits toward the stronger end of our range. Plenty of body, and it holds its own in a flat white or latte.
How fresh is this coffee?
Our roasters roast fresh for us in small batches, and we usually dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. Coffee actually improves for the first week or so after roasting, then holds well sealed. The roast date is on the bag.
What if I don't like it?
Tell us what didn't work and we'll help you find something closer to your taste. Full policy in our help centre.
Will this work with my machine?
Yes. If you're pulling espresso, the Starting Point above gives you a dose, yield and shot time to begin from. Every machine and grinder is a little different, so expect to adjust from there.
