About this coffee

The cup that tastes like the coffee Australia grew up on

Omni Roast | Chocolate, Hazelnut, Toffee & Brown Sugar

A single origin from Fazenda Ponte Funda in Brazil, roasted as an omni profile so the same bag works for espresso and filter alike.

Dark chocolate sweetness leads, with hazelnut, toffee and brown sugar filling it out. Velvety body, smooth mouthfeel, pleasant finish, no surprises and no rough edges. It's the flavour of a classic Aussie cafe coffee done properly: nostalgic without being dull. One for drinkers who know exactly what they like and want it made well.

The roaster

Good Seeds

West Perth

Good Seeds roast hand-selected coffees from around the world at their Gordon Street roastery and coffee bar in West Perth. They like to show the whole journey from farm to cup, with the growers front and centre on every coffee.

This is the taste most of us started on, chocolate, nuts, toffee, and it turns out it's even better when someone roasts it with care.

Espresso starting point

Dialled in on a Breville Barista Express

Dose
16g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield
40g of espresso in the cup
Time
28 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind
Fine, like caster sugar. Bitter and slow? Go a touch coarser. Sour and fast? A touch finer.

Tip: Start here. Not quite right? Change one thing — usually the grind — and tomorrow's cup is better. Today's is still fresh coffee.

Questions about this coffee

Where does this sit for strength?
This sits in the middle of our range. Smooth enough for everyday drinking, with enough body to hold its own in a flat white.
How fresh is this coffee?
Our roasters roast fresh for us in small batches, and we usually dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. Coffee actually improves for the first week or so after roasting, then holds well sealed. The roast date is on the bag.
What if I don't like it?
Tell us what didn't work and we'll help you find something closer to your taste. Full policy in our help centre.
Will this work with my machine?
Yes. If you're pulling espresso, the Starting Point above gives you a dose, yield and shot time to begin from. Every machine and grinder is a little different, so expect to adjust from there.
