About this coffee

A limited, bright microlot for drinkers who want fruity, not another chocolate blend.

Omni Roast | Tropical, Apple & Bergamot

A single-hill microlot from Kigina in Burundi, carefully washed and dried to protect its clarity. It drinks bright and clean, apple and tropical fruit lifted by an unusual bergamot thread that makes it feel a bit fancy.

Roasted omni, it pulls a vibrant espresso and brews an expressive filter, and it is at its best black or as a short milk drink rather than a flat white. A genuine limited release, so it will not be around long.

Wangara

Kaltiva is a small-batch roaster run by founder and head roaster Liam Valiukenas out of Wangara, where the HQ doubles as a roastery coffee bar you can walk into.

They roast daily, and their blends are named for everyday moments rather than origins: Foundation, Pathfinder, Neighbourhood.

Microlots like this come through once and don't come back. If bright African coffees are your thing, don't sit on it.

Espresso starting point

Dose: 17g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield: 36-38g of espresso in the cup
Time: 28 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind: Fine, like caster sugar. Finer slows the pour, coarser speeds it up

Tip: Give a super fresh bag a day or two to settle after roasting before you judge it. The taste evolves over a few days.
