About this coffee

A bright, tropical omni-roast Colombian that works as espresso or filter.

Omni Roast | Tropical Fruit, Caramelised Sugar & Cocoa

A honey-processed single origin from Apía in Risaralda, roasted omni. Tropical fruit brightness and caramelised sugar sit over a silky cocoa base, so it drinks lively but not thin.

Bright enough to shine as filter, but the cocoa gives it enough weight to hold up in milk too. One of the few in the range where filter genuinely earns a mention.

Kaltiva is a small-batch roaster run by founder and head roaster Liam Valiukenas out of Wangara, where the HQ doubles as a roastery coffee bar you can walk into.

They roast daily, and their blends are named for everyday moments rather than origins: Foundation, Pathfinder, Neighbourhood.

Bright, tropical and honey-sweet. Brew it as filter to show it off, or pull it as espresso, both work.

Espresso starting point

Dose: 17g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield: 36-38g of espresso in the cup
Time: 28 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind: Fine, like caster sugar. Finer slows the pour, coarser speeds it up
