About this coffee

Cafe-style comfort for the daily ritual, without the cafe queue.

Medium-Dark Roast | Salted Caramel, Plum & Toasted Hazelnut

Salted caramel and toasted hazelnut give it a rounded, sweet base, with a plum note for a bit of lift. Smooth and bold rather than sharp.

Medium-dark and full enough to stand up in milk-based drinks. An easy, low-fuss one to dial in day to day.

Wangara

Kaltiva name their blends for moments rather than origins, Foundation for the morning, Neighbourhood for the everyday, so you can pick by how you drink instead of decoding labels.

Founder Liam roasts daily in Wangara, where the HQ doubles as a walk-in coffee bar.

This is the one I'd put in front of someone who wants their home flat white to taste like the cafe's.

Espresso starting point

Dialled in on a Breville Barista Express

Dose
16.5g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield
36-38g of espresso in the cup
Time
28 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind
Fine, like caster sugar. Bitter and slow? Go a touch coarser. Sour and fast? A touch finer.

Tip: Start here. Not quite right? Change one thing — usually the grind — and tomorrow's cup is better. Today's is still fresh coffee.

Questions about this coffee

Where does this sit for strength?
Every coffee we list sits somewhere on a range from gentle to punchy. Check the roast level above, or ask us and we'll place it for you.
How fresh is this coffee?
Our roasters roast fresh for us in small batches, and we usually dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. Coffee actually improves for the first week or so after roasting, then holds well sealed. The roast date is on the bag.
What if I don't like it?
Tell us what didn't work and we'll help you find something closer to your taste. Full policy in our help centre.
Will this work with my machine?
Yes. If you're pulling espresso, the Starting Point above gives you a dose, yield and shot time to begin from. Every machine and grinder is a little different, so expect to adjust from there.
