About this coffee

An everyday medium that works as well black as it does in milk.

Medium Roast | Milk Chocolate, Caramel & Dark Berry

Natural Ethiopian and washed Papua New Guinean beans, built for everyday drinking. Milk chocolate and caramel with a soft dark-berry fruit underneath.

Medium roast, so it keeps some fruit while still holding up in milk. Forgiving to pull and happy to drink black.

Offshoot Coffee

Perth CBD

Offshoot grew out of Mary Street Bakery, the crew behind some of Perth's favourite pastries, and they treat coffee with the same care.

When you're ready to try something a little different from your usual, start here.

The berry keeps it from being just another chocolate blend, but it's still an easy, everyday pull.

Espresso starting point

Dialled in on a Breville Barista Express

Dose
16.5g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield
36-38g of espresso in the cup
Time
28 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind
Fine, like caster sugar. Bitter and slow? Go a touch coarser. Sour and fast? A touch finer.

Tip: Start here. Not quite right? Change one thing — usually the grind — and tomorrow's cup is better. Today's is still fresh coffee.

Questions about this coffee

Where does this sit for strength?
This sits at the gentler end of our range. Lighter and brighter than most, at its best black or in a smaller milk drink.
How fresh is this coffee?
Our roasters roast fresh for us in small batches, and we usually dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. Coffee actually improves for the first week or so after roasting, then holds well sealed. The roast date is on the bag.
What if I don't like it?
Tell us what didn't work and we'll help you find something closer to your taste. Full policy in our help centre.
Will this work with my machine?
Yes. If you're pulling espresso, the Starting Point above gives you a dose, yield and shot time to begin from. Every machine and grinder is a little different, so expect to adjust from there.
