About this coffee

The strong, no-nonsense coffee that made a first bean-to-cup machine worth it.

Medium-Dark Roast | Dark Chocolate, Almond & Toffee

Dark chocolate and toasted almond up front, with a toffee sweetness underneath. It's a full-bodied cup without tipping into bitter.

Strong enough to notice, but still easy-drinking on a basic home machine, including a first-ever bean-to-cup.

Dose: 16.5g of fresh grounds in the basket
Yield: 36-38g of espresso in the cup
Time: 28 to 32 seconds, timed from the first drop
Grind: Fine, like caster sugar. Bitter and slow? Go a touch coarser. Sour and fast? A touch finer.

Where does this sit for strength?

This sits toward the stronger end of our range. Plenty of body, and it holds its own in a flat white or latte.

How fresh is this coffee?

Our roasters roast fresh for us in small batches, and we usually dispatch within 1 to 2 business days. Coffee actually improves for the first week or so after roasting, then holds well sealed. The roast date is on the bag.

What if I don't like it?

Will this work with my machine?

Yes. If you're pulling espresso, the Starting Point above gives you a dose, yield and shot time to begin from. Every machine and grinder is a little different, so expect to adjust from there.
