About this coffee
Omni Roast | Poached Pear, Chocolate & Pecan
This is the first Indonesian coffee on the shelf from this month's lineup: a washed Typica lot grown at 1,250 metres in the highlands of Gowa, South Sulawesi, and processed at the Yolan Tirta farm's Malino mill.
In the cup it's poached pear and milk chocolate, with dried orange and pecan sitting underneath. Acidity is mellow and the sweetness is rounded, so it drinks like a comfortable everyday coffee rather than a showpiece.
Yolan Tirta grows without chemical fertilisers and has spent recent years working with neighbouring farmers, setting up small mills and drying stations, and adapting drying to the region's humidity.
Perfect for: Anyone chasing something smooth, sweet and seriously comforting, whether that's a morning long black or a lazy weekend filter.

Pique is run by Jason, a sound engineer turned certified coffee taster, and his wife Claire from their Wembley roastery bar.
Part of their drinks range supports the Men's Talk mental health charity, so good coffee here does a bit of good too.
